Hashing is a worldwide off-the-beaten path activity that has been going on for almost 75 years.

The Oregon Kahuna Hash House Harriers operate a bit differently than your typical American style hash house harriers run. Monday is a good night for many of us to recover from our weekends. We'll cut back on the suds at this hash, but post hash sport drinking is not frowned upon. We'll have great trails with something for everyone. We'll strive for precious shiggy (off pavement and trail). We run every Monday, hounds starting at 7:00 sharp. Monday is a great night for hashing.

 

 

The first hash house harriers, an elite all-men group began in 1938, in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia ran on every Monday nite.

 

Its objectives were :

to promote physical fitness amongst its members

to get rid of weekend hangovers

to acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it with beer

to persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel

 

We support the objectives of the original Mother Hash (KLH3), and have some additions:

 

• Have fun
• Encourage participation.
• Keep this hash Alcohol-abuse free ( Post hash sport drinking excepted )
• Set great hash trails week after week that runners, non-runners and walkers will enjoy
• Welcome new members and encourage them to become regulars
